Know where you stand, wherever you land.
Home opens on the country you're in and the days you've used there, with your top three countries just below. Turn the card over for tax rates, passport rank and a line to an adviser.
Every country. One clear answer.
See your days per country for any date range, each with a status in plain English: safe, may be deemed resident, or resident.
Your days count themselves.
Your phone's location places you at midday and at midnight, so every day and night lands in the right country, with a purpose you can edit: residence, work or leisure.
Missing days? Flashback rebuilds them.
Import location history from Google Timeline, photo metadata, or Excel travel logs; our AI fills missing days to rebuild tax history.
A whole year, one flag at a time.
See where you were on any day, and which days are complete, partial or missing. Tap a day, or two for a range, to edit.
See the limit before you book.
Add a trip and Travel Planner projects your days against every limit, so problems surface as calendar entries, not tax bills. Try it: drag the trip.
Tax residency, on autopilot.
Thinking of moving? Ask AI Auto-Pilot. Enter your salary, add other income and wealth if you want them counted, then choose up to three countries to compare.
Compare the tax before you move.
Income tax, capital gains and inheritance side by side, worked out for your profile, so you can compare before you talk to an adviser. Country risks, from quality of life to stability, sit just below.

Domicile is gone. Now it's all days.
Since April 2025, UK tax turns on residence, and residence turns on your days here. Resident runs the Statutory Residence Test on your live count, across the tax year that matters: 6 April to 5 April.
How the test works: under 16 days, not resident; 16 to 182 days, your ties decide; 183 days or more, resident. Not UK resident in any of the last 3 tax years? The first band runs to 45 days.
Your ties set your limit.
There's no single day limit. Each tie to the UK lowers the days you can spend here, so the same 124 days can leave one person non-resident and make another UK resident. Try it: tap your ties.
- UK tax resident: In any of the last 3 tax years
- Home in the UK: A UK home available to you
- Family in the UK: A UK-resident partner or child under 18
- 90 UK days: Over 90 in either of the last 2 tax years
- 40 days at work: Working in the UK on 40 days or more
Leaving the UK? See what can still follow you.
Add the date you left, past or planned, and Risk Radar works through your tax years. UK resident in 4 of the 7 years before leaving? Capital gains can follow you for five years. In 10 of the last 20? Inheritance tax can follow you too. Try it: tap a year.
Your next five years, in days.
Set the ties you'll keep and Resident shows the most UK days you can spend each tax year and stay non-resident. Selling an asset while you're away? Check the capital gains tax first.
Schengen 90/180, counted daily.
The 180-day window moves every morning. Resident moves with it, showing days used and days left across every Schengen country.
State lines count too.
New York is not Florida. See your days state by state, each against its own residency rule. Puerto Rico Act 60 is covered as well.

Quick answers
What is Resident and who is it for?
Resident is your tax and residency co-pilot – it uses GPS, embedded tax rules, and AI to track days, calculate cross-border tax exposure, and highlight risks for globally mobile people like expats, founders, remote workers, and HNWIs.
How does Resident track my days and rebuild past travel?
Resident automatically counts days using real-time GPS data and key tax thresholds, then uses Flashback to pull from Google Timeline history, photo metadata, and uploaded travel logs to reconstruct missing days into an exportable, audit-ready trail.
Which countries and tax rules does Resident support?
Resident currently supports tax rules and AI guidance for 40+ countries, covering key residency and day-count rules (including state and regional thresholds), with more jurisdictions being added in our upcoming release.
Do I still need a tax adviser if I use Resident?
Resident handles the heavy lifting on tracking, calculations, and alerts, and when your situation requires human advice you can connect to our curated marketplace of vetted tax, residency, and citizenship specialists directly.
How does Resident keep my data private?
Resident is private by design: there's no central backend database, and your data stays on your device or personal cloud unless you choose to export and share it with an adviser or employer.
Sit back and relax – we've got the compliance handled.
Resident keeps you compliant across borders, so you can focus on what matters.
